Korean Folk Village 한국민속촌

It is chuseok time and i saw many people brought suitcase (they are going back to their hometown), people brought gifts, etc.

Lotte Mart 롯테마트 - so many interesting gift sets !

Pretty Korean traditional sweets - one of the gift sets

Oppa is buying gift too :D
Okay.. then oppa went back to Indonesia T_T

And now i am alone. i was thinking what should i do..
I think this is Chuseok time and it might be the best time for me to see Korean culture because might be any performance or events !

So yesterday i went to Korean Folk Village at Gyeonggi Province (it is around 1 hour from Seoul ^^).
There are some ways to reach Korean Folk Village 한국민속촌 . See the website here for the ways to reach it.

I chose to go there from Gangnam Station. Because Gangnam is at the subway green line (#2) and SNU also at subway green line (#2) so i feel it's easier. hihi.

Reached Gangnam and find the exit to Yangjae.
After exit, go to the Gangnam bus station which is located at the middle of the road and ride on the red bus number 5001-1.

You can rest / sleep on the bus because it takes around 30 mins or more to reach Korean Folk Village.
Remember to take off from the bus at Korean Folk Village Station ( 민속촌입구 ).
You can see across the road there is a large parking space for Korean Folk Village. Cross the road and find the entrance.

Parking space

Ticket booth. See the website for the entrance fee.

Toilet is one of the very important matters for me :P

one of the shooting places for Seonggyungwan Scandal - i haven't watch it. Have you?

This is the shooting place for that Seonggyungwan Scandal

This is the government office at that era

Inside, there are some punishment manual machines (can we call it as machine?? LOL).
I took the picture of this one only because there's a kid who is acting at that time. So i quickly snapped the pic. :D
There are daily performance here. So don't miss it! See the schedule here.

Guess what is this ?

Traditional Wedding Ceremony !

It won't be a memorabilia without my own face on the spot! LOL !!!

It's lunch time so i had lunch first.. There are many authentic Korean foods there.. Actually i wanted Gamja Jeon 감자전 because i love potato so much.. But looking at a picture of Sujebi 손수제비 i thought it was like dumpling..and it's soup... Because the weather is a lil bit cold for a person like me who is from a tropical country, plus i never had sujebi before.. So i ordered it..

Sujebi
But it turns out that i don't really like sujebi.. Maybe from all Korean foods i have ever had, sujebi is my less favorite. because everything is dough only... Dough with soup T____T + a bit seaweed, green onion, and cucumber.

So when i was eating it, i miss dumplings a lot - i miss xiao long bao the most... T_T (and i miss kwetiau too..)

I had Sik Hye! I love Sik Hye a lot !!!!!
Okay, after had lunch.. let's go around ! Some nice views :

Don't know who is them but they looks nice for the picture

Some leaves turned to yellow and red already !

Also don't know who is them. But this scene looks like scene in drama, isn't it ? :D

Let's watch some performance !

A very cool performance !

A nice performance ! I enjoyed it a lot. The colors are so pretty !

The ribbon comes out from their hat. So they should move their head accordingly to spin the ribbon.
The ribbon is of the most beautiful parts of the dance.

A breath taking performance.

And random pictures ...

Pull out the rice from the plants

Saw very cute kids wearing hanbok when watching performance. The colors are so beautiful.
Going home and surprisingly met Shao Jie who is from China at the gate of Korean Folk Village.
Shao Jie is my classmate for the 1st day. But because there are some class changes, we are not in the same class anymore. Very coincidence leh.
